Apple Health
Mindful minutes, from your breathing.
The Health app on your iPhone keeps a record called mindful minutes: time you spend on practices like guided breathing. If you allow it, Reed adds each session you complete there, so your breathing shows up alongside the rest of your Health data.

Turning it on
- Update Reed to version 1.2.2 or later.
- Complete two sessions. After the second, Reed offers to add your sessions to Apple Health. You can also turn it on at any time in Reed’s Settings, under Apple Health.
- Your iPhone asks for permission. Allow Mindful Minutes, and from then on every session you complete is added.
Where to find them
Open the Health app, tap Browse, then Mental Wellbeing, and choose Mindful Minutes. Each Reed session appears as one entry covering the time you spent breathing. On recent versions of iOS, Apple’s State of Mind view can also show mindful minutes next to how you’ve felt.
What Reed records
Reed writes the time you actually spent breathing. Pauses are left out, and if you finish early, the entry is shorter. Reed writes only: it never reads anything from Health, and the rest of your practice history stays in Reed as before. After an entry is saved, it lives in the Health app under your own Health and iCloud settings.
Turning it off
Open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps under Privacy, and choose Reed. Entries Reed already added stay in Health until you delete them there.
Reed is for general wellbeing. It is not medical advice or treatment.
Nine guided sessions, a single orb, and your own before-and-after at the end.
Questions
Does Reed read my Health data?
No. Reed only writes: it adds your completed sessions as mindful minutes and never reads anything from Health.
Do paused minutes count?
No. Reed records the time you actually spent breathing, so pauses are left out and an early finish records the shorter time.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Reed runs on iPhone, and the entries land in the Health app on your iPhone.
Is this part of Reed Pro?
No. Adding sessions to Apple Health works for everyone, like every session in Reed.
